More than 1,000 businesswomen packed the Westin Copley Place on October 19th, 2011 for United Way's 16th Annual Women's Leadership Breakfast. United Way’s signature Women’s Leadership Breakfast event brings together female corporate and community leaders to raise funds, learn about community issues, enjoy nationally-recognized keynote speakers and network with friends and colleagues. Considered a “Who’s Who” of the region’s most powerful women executives. The Women's Leadership Event celebrates the idea that together we can accomplish more for Massachusetts children, youth and families than any individual or organization can alone.
The 2011 event honored Linda Driscoll, Dream Big! Founder & CEO with the inaugural Women’s Initiative Live United award. The United Way Women’s Initiative presents the award to recognize and honor a woman leader who lives united and who exemplifies their mission to advance the common good by strengthening the community.

The breakfast was co-chaired by Krissy Davis (Deloitte), Julia Holloway (Sun Life Financial), and Doreen Rigby (State Street) as well as Honorary co-chair Gloria Cordes Larson (president, Bentley University). Clinton and Obama Administration veteran, Betsy Myers, provided the keynote address and discussed her new role as founding director of Bentley University's Center for Women & Business. Another guest speaker at the event was an amazingly inspirational young woman, Rodnee Davis of Roxbury Youthworks.
